I've been sick lately. And I guess it's not just the stomach flu. Mom convinced me to go see a doctor on Weds, since I wasn't getting better. So I went to the Healthpartners clinic up here, and got checked out. They checked me out, and were a little worried because my irises in my eyes were yellowy, which apparently is a symptom of Hepatitis A. So they took some blood, gave me some anti nausea pills and sent me on my way.
Two days later, they call me back, telling me they're leaning towards me having Hepatits A now after looking at the test results. My liver enzymes were way high, which is a big clue for Hep A. So they sent me to the hospital to get a CT scan of my abdomen, and everything came back looking normal in that, except I guess my gall bladder was a little bit inflamed and it was contracted so they couldn't see in it well, so they couldn't rule out gall stones. But since I don't have any sharp pains or anything, they don't think it's that. So they decided to run some more tests on my blood, looking specifically for hep A, mono, and some other mono like disease. And I should find out on Monday what the results are from those tests. And then we will see where I go from here. If it's not any of those, they might send me to a gastroenterologist (yeah I don't know how to spell that) to get an ultrasound of my liver and gall bladder and stuff.
Honestly, right now I'm hoping that it's either mono or hep A. Both I can recover from without major treatment, I just need to rest and eat better to get over it faster. And I can do that. I really really hope they find out what's wrong with me on Monday, I'm sick of doing all these tests and having to go back into the clinic to talk about test results.
